60's Beauty

I'm married, right? Like, the deed is done and it was a gorgeous service and we have a blast, right? It was basically a hippie wedding with me in a sun dress and Andrew in a linen button up and our TOMS, right?

Our 1 year marriage anniversary is coming up in July and we've been talking about what we'd like to do for it. We have several ideas that involve travel and maybe renewing our vows, etc. So that got me to thinking, what if we had a 60's inspired vow renewal? This is all hypothetical of course but....

I love the 60's. It's one of my favorite decades for fashion and revolution. I started hunting around online for 60's inspired wedding dresses and I found some. Some that I LOVE and just had to share them with you! All of these images come from Dolly Couture, when you get a chance, check them out!

Aren't those gorgeous?! The last one might be my favorite! These just made it on my wish list! I think it would be magical to have a dress like that for a vow renewal, that is, you know, if we have one ;-)

Eye Makeup Inspiration | Vintage Remix

Hiya! So, I have a confession to make. I've never really worn a lot of makeup. It was just never really my thing,when I was a little younger I always in the woods or whatever and just didn't have any interest in it. Since I've grown up a little and gotten married I'm just now really discovering my sense of style (beyond jeans and hiking boots) and makeup tricks. It's way exciting too, just to keep discovering fun girly sides of myself and embracing them!

So, I finally picked up a liquid liner pencil with Andrew. He helped me pick it out - insert greatest husband of the year award here - we decided a pencil would be way less frustrating than a regular bottle of liquid liner. I've been playing with it and I really love it! It's way fun and I think it's easier than a regular liner. 

I've been checking out some photos with Audrey Hepburn, Jean Shrimpton, Barbra Eden and Judy Garland (I mean, they're some of my total favorites!). Here are a few photos that totally inspire me to play with my make up:

So, the 1970s look excatly like I thought they would.

My dad is one of my absolute favorite people on the planet. He and I share several charming and ...not so charming characteristics so we're pretty close. He's always into something and it makes me happy to hear stories from him, from others about him, to tell stories about him... he has the best. So I've grown up hearing about my dad in the ski patrol days, snowshoeing on the parkway, camping, and general rowdy-ness.  My Uncle Tommy has been sharing photos on facebook of life in the 60's and 70's in the snow with his 35mm camera!  I wanted to share a few of my absolute favorite photos of my dad!

How amazing are those photos?! And can we talk about how he had a Bronco too? Fo real. These just make my heart swell, I love that I get to have a glimpse of what his life was like back then! And, the 70's look exactly the way I thought they would. Score!

Typewriters and Day Dreams

I've been looking at typewrites online today and I have fallen head over heels for these beauties...

I actually prefer to write on a type writer than on a computer, I love the hum and the feel of the buttons under my fingers... there is something wonderful about the romantic side of writing on a typewriter! I've been day dreaming up new designs for my owls today, I've be sketching away in my studio and I'm pretty excited to see how they turn out with needle and thread! I'll share a few peeks soon!
