Over the weekend we had a lovely visit with Andrew's wee niece, Natalie. Most of his immediate family lives in Virginia and we rarely get to see them, so it was a big deal to see her! She got to our house with Brandon at about 10 in the morning so we all had cookies with rainbow icing for breakfast. Then we drew on the chalkboard from the living room and let her pick out her favorite owl from my handmade collection! Excellent start to our day!
We decided to go to the park with a picnic and see what kind of mischief we could get into. We had a picnic with a turtle Andrew found, and Rufus came too!
It turns out that swinging is Natalie's favorite thing to do at the park, and it's mine too! We went swinging while Andrew played with the turtle and Brandon walked on his hands on the big tires. He's kinda cool like that.
After we played we decided to go on an adventure to the river. We let the turtle go and then we found a lot of rocks, two fish and a snake.
This was the source of the great weekend high. I love hanging out with kids and going on adventures with people I love. I think it's safe to say Natalie is extremely well loved and pretty much has the best uncles in the world!
