Pumpkin Cake with Oakley

Hello! My name is Oakley from My Brilliant B Average Blog! I am so grateful for Shannon to let me do a guest post on her amazing blog! I'm fairly new to the blogging world, but am loving it! I blog mostly about my outfits, what I have recently thrifted, my collections, and everything else that I feel describes me, or deserves to be shared- including this DIY!

Pumpkin Shaped Cake

Lets start with what you'll need!
Two boxes of spice cake mix (check the back of the boxes for the ingredients that brand requires)
A bundt cake pan
Flour non-stick baking spray
Your mixer

Preheat your oven.
Follow the instructions on the back of the box to make the batter.

Coat the pan with the flour non stick spray. Be sure to coat it very thick, because bundt pans tend to stick. Pour the batter in the pan. Leave it in for the amount of time given on the cake box.

While your cake is in the oven, go read some cute blogs or take a picture of your adorable puppy watching you bake.

After your first cake is done, wash your pan, and repeat.

Stack your cakes on top of each other. If it fits a little off like mine did, just cut the bottoms off, so they will fit flat.

Don't forget to taste test it at this point!

Next, lets make the Icing. You will need:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 1/2 teaspoon milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix it together. I added orange food coloring for fun!

Drip the glaze over the cake.
Look at that dog eyeball the cake!

Don't forget the stem! Use whatever you want. I used an ice cream cone! Because I didn't have one handy, I had my dad order one at Burger King without ice cream. By the strange looks the man at the register gave us, you would've thought he hadn't received that request very many times.

And voila! There is your very own pumpkin cake!

Ahhh! I LOVE this cake idea! I think it's the cutest thing and it looks so yummy! I can't wait to make one and try it at my house! If you decide to join in leave a link below! Don't forget to head over to Oakley's blog and see what she's up to next!

This looks great, but I must tell you this is making me crazy. I've been looking for a spice cake mix all week for a pumpkin muffin recipe that called for it, but am not having any luck.

    Awesome looking cake though! :)
