This is one of my all time FAVORITE singers. And, this song totally cracks me up and reminds me to stop taking everything so seriously and to loosen up. After all, you are what you are and you ain't what you ain't.
oh my gosh! I grew up with my dad playing this song on the guitar. It's a great one (and also "Please Don't Bury Me" and "Spanish Pipedream"). Thanks for reminding me about the great John Prine. So glad I stumbled on your blog.
