Used Books

Yesterday Stacey, Andrew and I went to this little obscure place on a random little road in our town. We followed a big yellow sign that said "Used Books" in big black letters. This is what we found...

Yes, this record is about how to keep your husband happy. Andrew was pretty pumped on it, and posed like a creeper to prove it.

You have to walk sideways down the aisles but man, it was awesome! There were probably over a million books in that tiny little store! I braved my way down one aisle with books from herbal medicine to knitting - I never figured out her organization, but she was VERY particular about it - and found a thousand records! We spent most of our time browsing the records and we found James Taylor and Cat Stevens. My two goal records to score! Unfortunately we didn't have any cash and that's all she takes, I think if we offered to dust she might have taken it out in trade but.... We're planning a trip back, I just want to spend all day looking at the books! And maybe she has a record player so we can play the creepy husband record. Gotta get tips on how to please the Mr. when I can ;-)

I've installed a third party commenting form because blogger has been bumming me out! I think it will be easier to use for everyone, including my friends that don't have a blog. Now anyone should be able to comment! Since it's a little new let me know if you have an issue with it and I'll see what I can do! Gracias!

Happy Tuesday!
xo Shannon

James Taylor was definitely a good choice! And that's so funny because I just found James Taylor AND Cat Stevens last year at a huge record sale. Definitely a high point in my vinyl collecting career!

This bookstore reminds me of 'Jerry's Records' in Pittsburgh. Instead of aisles and aisles of books, it's used records. Quite amazing.

Iris, that sounds amazing! If we're ever in P-burg we'll check it out!

Nice, Amy! We were way pumped when we found them... there might have been a little dancing involved ;-)

There's an awesome bookstore kind of like this in Cary that I need to hit up...if you bring in old books, they'll either give you cash or store credit so you can buy other books from them. I'm totally planning on heading there next weekend. :)

What a great find in your town! Last year, when I turned 30, my mom gave me her collection of old 60's and 70's rock albums. Classic stuff. :)

Hadn't thought about the dusting as a trading method...but i do believe you are correct, think she might have gone for it! That and maybe a few more books because lord knows she was lacking on the number of books available.

Stacey, you are my favorite! Maybe when we go back it won't be as awkward getting out of the driveway, too :-)

You must've been on Mauney Cove! I don't think I could handle that bookstore, but I've heard about it.
